The Government of India is closely following the developments regarding the missing Malaysian Airlines flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Among the passengers are five Indian nationals.

Since Saturday, the Indian High Commission in Malaysia and the Embassies of India in China and DPRK have been in touch with the relatives of the five Indian nationals on that flight and we have assured them of our assistance and support. Our High Commission in Kuala Lumpur is also in constant contact with concerned Malaysian authorities in this regard.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those on that flight and we fervently pray for those passengers. We appreciate the efforts of the Government of Malaysia to locate the missing aircraft.
