Press Release

1. The High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur in association with University of Malaya releaseda bilingual booklet on Ayurveda, titled “Ayurveda: Science and Practice”.  The booklet, written in Bahasa Malaysia and in English, was jointly authored by well-known Indian Ayurveda doctor couple Dr. Gopesh Mangal and Dr.Gunjan Garg.  It was officially released on 6th August, 2015 at a function in Hotel Renaissance, Kuala Lumpur by General (Retd) Vijay Kumar Singh, Hon’ble Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India and Y.B. Tuan P. Kamalanathan, Hon’ble Deputy Minister of Education, Government of Malaysia.  Also present were Mr. Anil Wadhwa, Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and H.E. Mr. T.S. Tirumurti, High Commissioner of India to Malaysia.

2. A large number of prominent personalities from different walks of life attended the book-release function.  The book has been translated in Bahasa Malay language by Dr. S. Kumaran, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, University of Malaya. 

3. The High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur acknowledges support of Traditional & Complimentary Medicine Division of Ministry of Health, Malaysia for bringing the knowledge of Ayurveda to Malaysia.  The booklet encompasses the basic concept of essential elements of Ayurveda.  Ayurveda is not only a system of medicine but also a holistic sign to healthy living.  The booklet is to deliver information on Ayurveda to both medical professionals as well as the public.
