Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri NarendraModi, in a letter to the Prime Minister of Malaysia on 20th November 2014, has conveyed his appreciation for the successful ASEAN-India Summit held in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, on 12th November 2014.  Both Prime Ministers had met on the side-lines of the ASEAN Summit and discussed issues of mutual bilateral interest, focusing on deepening of the strategic partnership between the two countries.      

In his letter, Prime Minister Modi said that he was looking forward to deeper bilateral engagement with Malaysia and Malaysia’s continued support in strengthening the growing ties between India and ASEAN.        

Prime Minister Modi also expressed confidence that India and the dynamic Southeast Asian region can raise their economic collaboration to a higher trajectory and also work together for peace, stability and better future through cooperation for all, for which he found enormous convergence.  The Prime Minister mentioned that the support and goodwill expressed by the ASEAN leaders gave him confidence in pursuing the goal of transforming Indian economy for the betterment of its people.
