Registration for Indian Voters Living Overseas


Under the recent amendments to the Representation of People Act 2010, Indian nationals living overseas, in order to be able to access their right to franchise, are required to submit their registration forms in their respective constituencies.

The Notifications issued under Rule 8(A) of the Representation of Electors Rules, 1960 by the Chief Electoral Officers of the States of Tamil Nadu, Assam, Andra Pradesh, Kerala, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka (bye-election in three Assembly Constituencies) and the Union Territory of Puducherry which will be going to the polls this year are placed below.

Clarification on Attestation

Regarding attestation of form 6A ( application for inclusion of name in electoral roll by an overseas elector) and other documents related to the registration process, attestation will be only self attestation. Applicants need not come to the High Commission of India for any attestation work related to the above mention matter.
